The Sindh Police and Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) have announced the establishment of a joint central data bank to track stolen, missing, and snatched vehicles, as well as the individuals involved in such crimes.
This decision was made following a key meeting chaired by Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, at the Central Police Office in Karachi.
The initiative aims to compile a comprehensive database of stolen vehicles and accused individuals, integrating data from multiple agencies, including CPLC, Police 15, Special Branch, AVLC, District Police, and S-4.
The data bank will also include records of individuals involved in the purchase and sale of stolen goods, with a focus on scrap dealers.

Authorities have already arrested 74 suspects and registered 67 FIRs since the start of the year.
IG Sindh emphasized the importance of tightening actions against scrap dealers and ensuring the inclusion of records related to “hit and run” incidents in the new system.
The new application will facilitate real-time data sharing across agencies, enhancing the ability to track criminals and improve crime prevention strategies.
CPLC Chief Zubair Habib praised the decline in crime rates, attributing it to effective policing by the Sindh Police.
IG Sindh directed that all necessary data related to vehicle theft and associated crimes be entered into the application for better coordination and crime analysis.
