UAE consul general dismisses claims of visa restrictions for Pakistanis

UAE visa Pakistanis

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consul General, Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi, has denied reports that the visa restrictions have been imposed on Pakistanis, calling the claims baseless and misleading.

Speaking to media representatives in Karachi, Al Rumaithi stressed that the rumors, circulating for the past two years, are baseless.

“Whoever wants to apply for a UAE visa should directly approach the UAE Visa Center,” he stated.

Al Rumaithi also highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering economic ties with Pakistan, noting that previous investments in Pakistan have yielded positive results, and more significant investments are expected soon.

“Big announcements regarding UAE investments in Pakistan will be made in the next month or two,” he added.

The statement comes amid ongoing unofficial reports that the UAE authorities cited incidents of protests, criticism of government policies, forgery in identity documents, and involvement in criminal activities such as theft and begging, with a higher rate of complaints allegedly linked to Pakistani citizens compared to other nationalities.

However, the Pakistani Embassy in the UAE has rejected media reports that claim that the government has imposed a visa ban on Pakistanis.

In an official statement, the embassy clarified that the reports were inaccurate and contrary incorrect. It emphasized the strong and friendly relations between Pakistan and the UAE, asserting that both governments are committed to resolving any concerns through constructive dialogue.
