Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah led an awareness walk to mark World Children’s Day, promoting the importance of children’s rights and collective responsibility for their protection.

The event, held along Seaview, brought together children, parents, NGOs, and government officials in a show of support.

Led by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah participants, including children, parents, and community members, marched from McDonald’s to Nishan-e-Pakistan, dressed in white shirts and caps carrying banners and placards displaying child protection messages.

The walk also featured two medical camps by 1122 Sindh, ensuring health assistance and safety for attendees during the event.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Shah highlighted the government’s dedication to child welfare. “Children are the foundation of our future. We must protect, educate, and empower them to build a prosperous society,” he said.

Over the past five years, the SCPA has successfully addressed 6,780 cases of child protection, reunited 2,604 missing children with their families, prevented 220 child marriages, and rescued 287 kidnapped children.

With a 24/7 Child Protection Helpline assisting over 168,000 calls and 30 operational Child Protection Units across the province, Sindh continues to lead in ensuring children’s safety and well-being.

Social Welfare Minister Tariq Ali Talpur praised these efforts, stressing the importance of collaborative action.

He highlighted the Sindh Darul Atfal Supervision and Monitoring Act, which oversees 40 registered orphanages and operates three rehabilitation centers in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.

The event concluded with a call for stakeholders to join hands in ensuring the rights and safety of every child. “World Children’s Day reminds us of our shared duty to protect the most vulnerable members of our society,” Talpur said.
