Pakistan and China have solidified their strategic partnership by signing key defense equipment agreements during the ongoing IDEAS 2024 exhibition at the Karachi Expo Centre.
The agreements, inked on the third day of the exhibition, involve Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) and China’s Norinco, with Mr. Ding from China and Brigadier Nadeem Ahsan representing their respective organizations.
Another memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Pakistan’s Chenab Engineering Works & Foundries and Norinco, with Ahmed Hassan signing on behalf of the Chenab Company.
The IDEAS 2024 event has drawn participation from numerous international companies, fostering collaboration and showcasing advancements in defense technology.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir visited the exhibition, commending the active participation of friendly nations and international manufacturers.
The event underscores Pakistan’s commitment to promoting international defense collaboration while advancing its indigenous defense production.
Earlier in the day, the Karachi Air Show took place at Sea View as part of the ongoing IDEAS 2024 defense exhibition.
This grand event will feature live demonstrations by Pakistan’s Army, Navy, and Air Force, showcasing their cutting-edge capabilities and professionalism.
The Pakistan Navy’s Sea King helicopters will showcase their combat readiness in an impressive demonstration, while the Pakistan Air Force will captivate audiences with a spectacular aerial fly-past featuring JF-17 Thunder and F-16 jets.
The show will also showcase the elite Special Services Group (SSG) Commandos who will execute high-altitude jumps, descending thousands of feet with precision, highlighting their exceptional training and skills.
This event aims to display the synergy between Pakistan’s armed forces and foster national pride, while also promoting international military cooperation. High-ranking dignitaries, including ambassadors and military personnel, are expected to attend.
