The authorities in Karachi have imposed Section 144, restricting public gatherings for seven days to enhance security during IDEAS 2024 – The International Defence Exhibition and Seminar.
According to the notification, the restriction will remain in place for seven days, from November 18 to November 24, banning the gatherings of more than five people, while no protests or sit-ins will be allowed in the port city during this period.
Officials stated that the measures are a precautionary response to the ongoing IDEAS 2024 – The International Defence Exhibition and Seminar – which requires heightened security to ensure public safety.

Similarly, Islamabad has implemented Section 144, prohibiting any religious or political gatherings in the capital.
The notification, issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, aims to maintain peace and prevent any disruptions. The decision has been enforced to safeguard residents and uphold law and order.
Authorities have urged citizens in both cities to adhere to the restrictions and cooperate with law enforcement to avoid legal action and ensure public safety.
