Karachi weather to remain hot, humid for next 24 hours

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Saturday issued the latest update on Karachi weather, according to which the weather to remain hot and humid for the next 24 hours.

The PMD in its report predicted that the minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 20.7 degrees Celsius, while the temperature is likely to go up to 32 to 34 degrees Celsius later in the day.

The Meteorological Department stated that the humidity ratio in the air is 87 percent, while the wind is blowing from the north at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour.

Karachi ranks sixth among the most polluted cities in the world

According to the Air Quality Index, as the winter is around the corner the air quality of the metropolis is becoming hazardous, while Karachi ranks sixth among the most polluted cities globally.

The amount of particulate matter in the air of Karachi has been recorded at 188 particulate meters.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PMD predicted that the current heatwave is likely to continue in Karachi till November 12.

In an interview with Dawn News, the Chief Meteorologist – Sardar Sarfaraz – anticipated that the heatwave in Karachi is likely to continue till November 12, with the temperature in Sindh to further spike 6 to 7 degrees.

“The first 10 to 12 days of November will remain hot and humid,” Sarfaraz added.

The Chief Meteorologist further added that the winter to hit Karachi from the mid of December.
