FIA arrests 34 Afghan nationals in Peshawar

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested 34 Afghan nationals from Peshawar, aiming to travel abroad on fake Pakistani documents.

As reported by ARY News, the Afghan nationals entered Pakistan illegally through the Chaman border and acquired fake Pakistani identity cards and passports from an agent.

The two foreign nationals were arrested from Peshawar’s NADRA Mega Center which led to a raid on the hostel from where 32 Afghans were arrested, Rizwan Shah – the Additional Director FIA disclosed in a statement.

Rizwan Shah further revealed that the arrested Afghan nationals wanted to make passports and identity cards through the agent.

Earlier to this, an Afghan citizen who was evacuated from Karachi to the Chaman border has reportedly returned to the city.

Salim, the Afghan citizen in question, shared a video statement detailing his return from Chaman.

According to his statement, he reached Quetta from Chaman and then traveled to Hub Chowki.

Police officials have confirmed the return of the Afghan national and stated that he has been taken into custody. The authorities plan to investigate the circumstances surrounding his return and, if necessary, take appropriate action.

Since the government of Pakistan issued orders for the evacuation of illegally staying foreign nationals, more than 200,000 Afghan citizens have returned to Afghanistan.
