The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime on Tuesday summoned the medical students who managed to score 97 percent marks in Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT 2024) test.
According to the details, the medical students called by the FIA enrolled in higher secondary educational boards in Karachi.
The Deputy Director of FIA issued a notification and directed the students to appear in the FIA Cybercrime Circle on November 1 at 12 noon.
The notice claims it is ‘practically impossible’ for students to achieve such high scores, raising suspicions of involvement in the paper leak of MDCAT 2024.
The notification further added that the students’ statements will be recorded as part of a fair investigative process, with the possibility of a mock test being conducted at the cybercrime office to observe their knowledge.
Cybercrime officials stated that any legal action will follow based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
It is worth mentioning here that FIA has confirmed that the MDCAT 2024 paper was leaked and shared by a doctor from Tharparkar, whose phone was seized for forensic examination.
Deleted messages revealed that the doctor had circulated the paper in five different WhatsApp groups and sent it individually to two contacts.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) nullified the MDCAT 2024 result and directed the authorities to re-conduct the exam within four weeks.
