On Wednesday, up to 100 Pakistanis arrived at Jinnah International Airport after being expelled by Saudi Arabia for a variety of reasons.
Details indicate that the majority of the passengers were expelled for breaking iqama and visa regulations. Twenty of them have been sent to the passport jail for additional inquiry, according to people with knowledge of the situation.
According to them, the 20 convicts had to serve out their terms in Pakistan since they had been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia on different charges from the others, who were free to return to their countries.
Prior to this, two planes carrying 200 Pakistanis who had been expelled from Saudi Arabia arrived at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
The deportees arrived at the airport in Karachi by planes from Jeddah and Riyadh, where they would face medical examinations, including a fast antigen test for COVID-19.
After ascertaining the reason for their deportation and following more inspection, the deportees, according to airport authorities, were permitted to return to their homes.
