The food supply for the animals kept at Karachi Zoo has been restored after being suspended on Monday for lack of payment to the contractor.

The matter was resolved on Tuesday after the contractor responsible for the supply met with officials of the KMC and was assured that the matter of his payments will be resolved soon.

Earlier, on Monday, the contractor had suspended the supply of animal food to the zoo after claiming that he had not been paid since February 2021.

The matter caught the public’s eye after a video of the animals at the zoo went viral with the maker claiming that they are in “awful shape”.

The zoo management, on the other hand, claims that the animals were in no real danger as they had ample animal food in their stockpile.
