Pakistan to offer animal welfare courses in schools

In Pakistan, a course on animal welfare will be offered to pupils for the first time as the nation works to protect the rights of the defenceless.

Salman Sufi, the head of the prime minister’s strategic reforms, revealed in a tweet on Saturday that the course will likely be implemented in all of Islamabad’s schools.

According to Sufis, the “special course” will be implemented with the goal of ensuring that youngsters demonstrate compassion and treat animals humanely so they may be better citizens.

In an interview with Geo.tv, Sufi said that the training is in line with Islamic animal rights and international standards on how to treat and protect animals.

According to him, “[the course] will also discuss [the] sort of pets and animals that exist in Pakistan and how maintaining exotic animals outside of their own nations is dangerous.
