Students from Gujranwala planted 50,000 saplings in a minute to set a world record for Pakistan.
According to ARY News, 13,000 students from the city managed the feat. The earlier world record was set in India where 37,000 saplings were planted in a minute.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Environment, Malik Ameen Aslam extended his congratulations to the students for making the world record.
Earlier, on August 9, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the world’s biggest Miyawaki urban forest in Lahore as part of a monsoon drive under the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project.
