Once again, Karachi graces the list of worst places to live in the world 

According to the Global Liveability Index published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Karachi is once again among the world’s 10 worst cities to live in.

Five categories—infrastructure, health care, education, culture, and entertainment—were examined and ranked for 172 cities in the index.

Due to stable governments and solid infrastructure, Europe and Canada had the majority of the world’s most livable cities. According to the index, which CNBC cited, these locations offered top-notch medical treatment as well as a wide range of recreational options.

The number one city in the world for quality of life is Vienna, Austria. It received a 95.1/100 overall score, including perfect scores in the education and infrastructure categories.

 

Three cities from Canada alone made it to the list of top 10.

2. Copenhagen, Denmark

3. Zurich, Switzerland

4. Calgary, Canada

5. Vancouver, Canada

6. Geneva, Switzerland

7. Frankfurt, Germany

8. Toronto, Canada

9. Amsterdam, Netherlands

10. Osaka, Japan and Melbourne, Australia.

 

Among the worst places to live in the world were cities in developing countries. War-stricken Syria’s capital has been ranked as the worst city to live in.

Damascus, Syria, with a score of 20 for stability is the worst place. The rest of the list is as follows:

5. Dhaka, Bangladesh

6. Port Moresby, PNG

7. Karachi, Pakistan

8. Algiers, Algeria
