  • Pakistan launches ‘Bunyan ul Marsoos’ in retaliation

Pakistan launched ‘Bunyan Marsoos – Iron Wall’ retaliatory military operation early Saturday targeting seven strategic Indian military installations, state media reported.

The strike follows Indian missile attacks on Pakistani air bases earlier this week.

Security sources confirmed the targeted locations included the Pathankot, Udhampur, Gujarat, and Rajasthan air bases, as well as a key BrahMos missile storage site.

The operation marks the most extensive military action by Pakistan since tensions escalated on the border.

The Pakistani military stated the operation was a “measured and calculated” response to India’s unprovoked missile strikes that hit multiple locations inside Pakistan.

  • India launches missile attack targeting Pakistani air bases

India launched a missile attack on three air bases inside Pakistan in the early hours of May 10, according to Pakistani military officials.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully thwarted the attack, and no damage to air force assets was reported.

A military spokesperson later confirmed that all operational facilities and equipment of the PAF remained secure following the missile strike.

The incident marks a sharp escalation in tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who have been trading accusations of aerial attacks and border violations since earlier this week.

  • Here’s what to know:

    • How it began: India launched military strikes on Wednesday, targeting what it claimed were “terrorist infrastructure” sites in Pakistan. The attack was in response to a recent massacre of civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir, which India blames on Pakistan—a charge Islamabad denies. Pakistan vowed a strong retaliation.
    • Jets downed: A senior U.S. official confirmed that Pakistani forces shot down at least one Indian jet during the cross-border strikes. Pakistan claims to have downed five Indian Air Force aircraft, including three Rafale jets. India has yet to issue a formal response to these claims.
    • Border clashes intensify: India accused Pakistan of launching multiple attacks along the western border and violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC). India’s military warned of forceful retaliation.
    • Casualties and drone warfare: Pakistan’s military reported killing 40 to 50 Indian soldiers along the LoC and claimed to have shot down 29 Indian drones across the country, from Rawalpindi to Karachi. India, in turn, said it intercepted Pakistani missiles aimed at Kashmir and Punjab—claims that Islamabad denies.
    • Panic in India: Explosions rocked Jammu city and Uri in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK), triggering blackouts and panic. Police in India’s Pathankot also reported blasts. Civilians have been fleeing affected areas, with 16 Indian deaths confirmed due to Pakistani shelling. Residents near the border, including in Amritsar, have been ordered to stay indoors.
