The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a cold week towards the end of November in Karachi. This wave of cold temperature is likely to persist till December.
The weather will remain cold and dry in the next 24 hours in Karachi with maximum temperature 26 degree Celsius and humidity level at 46 percent, the PMD said.
According to the forecast, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are likely to experience a dry period with minimum temperatures expected to go as low as 16 degrees on Thursday. The sky is expected to remain sunny on Thursday and Friday and partially cloudy on Saturday.
Earlier, the weather department had predicted a cold winter in Karachi this year. This was mainly owing to the existence of pressure in the northwest direction which contributes to chilly winters flowing from Balochistan.
Additionally, a westernly wave is also present which will result in temperature drop in Northern Pakistan.
In general, a dry spell is expected in most parts of the country on Thursday but heavy showers are also expected in regions of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and Islamabad.
