Over Rs20 million in cash was taken from the treasury of a police station in Karachi.
DIG South Sharjil Kharl has established a teamer to probe the theft incidence at Artillery Maidan Police Station under the supervision of SSP South.
The investigation team has been given seven days to complete its report.
The stolen cash of Rs20.07 million had been languishing in the treasury as a case property for four months.The money was seized by police from suspects detained during a heist at a jewellery store in Karachi.
The DIG stated that a complaint will be filed against four police officers who were in charge of the cash’s protection.
He said that head Moharrar Abdullah, investigation officer Mahmood and two police guards deployed at the treasury will be booked in the case.
