COAS emphasizes continued enforcement actions against illegal activities to curb economic losses

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, reiterated the commitment to combat a spectrum of illegal activities during a meeting of the provincial apex committee. The COAS emphasized that law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and government departments will maintain strong enforcement actions to prevent resource pilferage and economic losses in the country.

The meeting, attended by Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, covered various aspects, including the revised National Action Plan (NAP), operations in the kacha area of Sindh, and the security of foreign nationals employed on both CPEC and non-CPEC projects.

The COAS also received briefings on topics such as the repatriation of illegal foreigners, foreign currency regularisation measures, Karachi Transformation Plan, progress on SIFC initiatives in Sindh, and green Sindh initiatives.

Highlighting the need for synergy among relevant departments, the COAS stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure the success of landmark initiatives. Participants affirmed the unity of state institutions, government departments, and the public in working towards the progress and prosperity of the province. The COAS, upon arrival, was received by the Commander Karachi Corps.
