This modest uptick suggests that buying interest is returning at current levels, though the pace of gains remains subdued. The market appears to be searching for a short-term equilibrium after weeks of volatility.
In 10 grams, 24-karat gold increased by Rs. 515 to Rs. 372,973, while 22-karat gold rose by Rs. 472 to Rs. 341,904. The consistent gains across all variants indicate measured buying pressure.
The uptick was supported by slight strength in global markets. The international gold price rose by $6 to $4,125, stabilizing after recent declines. This global stability provided a mildly positive cue for local traders.
Since the late August peak above Rs. 483,000, gold remains significantly below those highs, having lost approximately Rs. 48,000 per tola during the recent correction. However, the metal remains well above the July lows near Rs. 421,000, and today’s small gain may signal that the market is finding a bottom at these levels.
A day earlier, gold rate in Pakistan declined sharply on Wednesday, with the yellow metal giving back its recent gains and resuming its downward trend amid continued weakness in international markets.
The 24-karat gold rate fell by Rs. 3,100, closing at Rs. 434,436 per tola.
