The federal government has provided further facilitation to low- and middle-income citizens under the Prime Minister’s Fuel Subsidy Scheme, making the SMS registration process completely free.

The facility has been introduced on the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, according to Radio Pakistan.
Under the scheme, fuel subsidies are being provided to owners of motorcycles, rickshaws and vehicles up to 800cc.

The relief is being extended across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
How to Register for the Fuel Subsidy
Eligible applicants can register for the scheme by sending an SMS to 9771.
The message should contain the following information in this order:
REG [CNIC Number] [Vehicle Number Plate] [Province Initial] [Vehicle Registration Date]
For example, applicants should type REG, followed by a space, their CNIC number, vehicle registration number, the first letter of the province where the vehicle is registered, and the vehicle registration date.
The SMS must be sent to 9771. The registration message is now free of charge.
The government has said the scheme is intended to provide fuel relief to eligible owners of smaller vehicles and two- and three-wheelers amid fuel price pressures.
