The final post-mortem report has confirmed that the slain businessman Mir Raza Ali died from a firearm injury, providing further details into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The exhumation board has concluded that Mir Raza Ali died from a perforating firearm injury to the chest. The Mir Raza post-mortem report was released by the Office of the Police Surgeon Karachi.
The body was exhumed approximately 12 days after death and found in an advanced stage of decomposition.
The post-mortem report revealed a firearm wound of entry on the left side of the upper back. The wound was located at the level of the 6th rib, measuring 0.8 cm with irregular margins.
The wound of exit was found on the left upper chest anteriorly. It was located at the level of the 3rd intercostal space, measuring 1.5 cm x 1.2 cm.
The heart showed two circular tears/lacerations approximately 1 cm in diameter. The left pleural cavity was found full of congealed blood.

The forensic examination found bruises on the right side of the forehead and nose. The tip of the left side of the nose was missing.
Doctors also found a fracture at the back of the skull, along with clotted blood in the skull. The hyoid bone in the neck was intact, but both sides showed a bluish discoloration.
DNA analysis confirmed that Mir Raza Ali was the biological son of Mir Hussain Ali and Marium Hussain. Gunshot residue elements including Lead and Barium were detected on both the posterior and anterior portions of his shirt. Traces of Hydrochloric Acid were also detected on the shirt.

Bupivacaine, an amide-type local anaesthetic, was detected in the blood sample. No sedative, psychotropic, narcotic, or poisonous substances were found in the submitted articles.
The exhumation board unanimously concluded that death occurred due to cardiac rupture consequent to a perforating firearm injury of the chest.
The findings are inconsistent with suicide as the manner of death. The board comprised eight members including forensic experts and medicolegal officers.
Earlier to this, a judicial commission investigating the alleged murder of businessman Mir Raza Ali has begun proceedings and summoned the medico-legal officer (MLO), police officials and ambulance drivers involved in the case.
The commission, headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial, held its maiden proceedings and heard the concerns of Ali’s family regarding the investigation into his death.
Justice Sial expressed condolences to the bereaved family as Ali’s father, mother and sister appeared before the commission. Family lawyer Jibran Nasir also attended the proceedings.
