A high-level Sindh Police investigation team probing the death of businessman Mir Raza Ali has contacted Apple to retrieve data from his mobile phone as investigators examine medical, digital and forensic evidence in the case.

According to a Sindh Police spokesperson, the investigation team is reviewing different aspects of the case and has also examined information obtained from Mir Raza Ali’s family members, friends and other sources.
The team has so far received two post-mortem reports, one final report and three chemical analysis reports. Police said the latest chemical analysis report was received on August 17 and is currently being examined by investigators.
The spokesperson said all available reports are being subjected to comparative and critical analysis, while certain points require further clarification and cross-verification.

Investigators have contacted the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for the forensic examination of mobile phone and smartwatch data.
The team has also approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in connection with the investigation into digital currency and other digital aspects of the case.
Meanwhile, Apple officials have been contacted to assist in accessing or unlocking data from Mir Raza Ali’s mobile phone.
Police said additional information and verification are also being sought from relevant authorities and institutions to clarify unresolved aspects of the investigation.

According to the police spokesperson, clarification of points raised in the latest chemical analysis report could help investigators make significant progress in determining the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza Ali’s death.
The investigation is continuing on a daily basis, with investigators examining technical, digital, medical and forensic evidence.
Sindh Police said investigation reports and updates are being shared with the public to an appropriate extent, keeping in view the progress of the probe and public interest.
