The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest three-day Karachi weather forecast, predicting an active spell of rain and thunderstorm activity across the city from Saturday, August 1 to Monday, August 3, as monsoon currents continue to strengthen under the influence of a Well Marked Low over Southeast Rajasthan, India.
Karachi Weather on Saturday, August 1
Saturday is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions across the city, with chances of dust-thunderstorm and rain of light to moderate intensity during the afternoon and evening hours as the monsoon system makes its presence felt over Karachi.

Maximum temperatures are likely to remain between 34-36°C, while minimum temperatures hovered around 29.5°C overnight.
Morning humidity remained at 82 per cent, the highest of the three-day period, easing to between 60-70 per cent by evening. Winds will blow from a west to southwesterly direction.
Karachi Weather on Sunday, August 2
Sunday is expected to see conditions intensify further, with mostly cloudy skies and chances of thunderstorm and rain of light to moderate intensity forecast throughout the day as the monsoon system maintains its grip over the city.
Maximum temperatures are forecast to ease slightly to between 33-35°C, while minimum temperatures will stay in the range of 27-29°C, slightly cooler than Saturday.
Morning humidity is expected between 75-85 per cent, remaining elevated at 60-70 per cent by evening. Winds will continue from a west to southwesterly direction.
Karachi Weather on Monday, August 3
Monday is expected to maintain the same active pattern, with mostly cloudy skies and chances of thunderstorm and rain of light to moderate intensity continuing as the extended rain spell stretches into the start of the new week.

Morning humidity is expected between 75-85 per cent, dropping to 60-70 per cent by evening. Winds will continue from a west to southwesterly direction.
Monsoon System Now Directly Affecting Karachi
The rain activity now arriving in Karachi is being driven by a Well Marked Low, the weakened remnant of a Depression that had previously lain over South Madhya Pradesh, which now lies over Southeast Rajasthan, India.
Under the influence of this system, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are continuously affecting the upper and central parts of Pakistan.
A westerly wave is also affecting northern areas and is likely to strengthen and affect most upper and central parts of the country in the coming days.
According to the PMD, dust-thunderstorm and rain of light to moderate intensity is expected in Karachi Division from today’s afternoon and evening through to the morning of August 3, with occasional gaps in activity.

Residents should be prepared for wet and humid conditions over the weekend and into Monday and plan their activities accordingly.
Severe Conditions Continue Across Interior Sindh
While Karachi experiences light to moderate rain, several interior Sindh districts continue to face far more intense conditions.
Thunderstorm and rain with a few moderate to isolated heavy to very heavy falls is expected in Tharparker, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sanghar, Khairpur, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Mityari, and Shaheed Benazirabad districts today through to August 3.
The PMD has warned that heavy rains may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sanghar, Khairpur, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Umar Kot, Tando Muhammad Khan, and Tando Allahyar from today through to August 2.
Moderate intensity dust-thunderstorm and rain is also expected in Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Nausheroferoze, Thatta, and Jamshoro during the same period.
Public Advisory and Precautions
The PMD has warned that heavy rains, windstorms, and lightning may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards during the forecast period.
Residents of Karachi are advised to remain cautious during the rain activity expected from this afternoon through the weekend and into Monday, avoid low-lying and flood-prone areas, and stay updated with the latest PMD forecasts.
Farmers across the region are advised to manage their crop activities carefully in view of the prevailing weather conditions and to take appropriate care of their livestock during this active monsoon spell.
Vigilance Advised for All Authorities
The PMD has advised all concerned authorities to remain alert and take necessary precautionary measures to deal with any weather or flooding-related emergencies that may arise during the forecast period, particularly given the urban flooding risk across several Sindh cities over the next two days.
