Karachi Metropolitan University (KMU) has taken a significant step towards employee welfare and professional development by issuing promotion letters to 112 employees serving in Grades 1 to 14.

A ceremony to distribute the promotion letters was held at the University under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Wasim Qazi, who congratulated the newly promoted employees and appreciated their dedication and services to the institution.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Wasim Qazi said that the promotion of employees was not merely an administrative process but an important recognition of their years of service, commitment, and contribution to the institution.

“Our employees are the strength of this institution. Their dedication and hard work play a vital role in the progress and development of Karachi Metropolitan University. It is our responsibility to recognize their services, provide them with opportunities for professional growth, and ensure that they are treated with dignity and fairness,” the Vice Chancellor said.

Prof. Dr. Wasim Qazi further stated that his vision was to build an institution where employees could work with confidence, dignity, and a sense of ownership, while ensuring that merit, transparency, and institutional responsibility remained at the heart of administrative decisions.

“My vision is to introduce and support initiatives that bring meaningful benefits to people and strengthen the institution as a whole. The completion of this promotion process is an important step in that direction. We want our employees to feel that their services are valued and that their professional growth is an integral part of the university’s progress,” he added.

The Vice Chancellor also announced the appointment of a designated representative to facilitate employees in addressing any concerns or grievances related to their promotion letters. Employees having any objection or complaint regarding their promotion may approach the designated representative and submit their applications within 10 days.

The Registrar noted that some employees had been waiting for their promotions for as long as 28 years, making the completion of the process particularly meaningful for them. He said that the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) had carried out its responsibilities with diligence, professionalism, and a strong sense of institutional responsibility, ultimately bringing the long-awaited promotion process to its successful conclusion.
