Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Monem Zafar Khan, inaugurated Karachi’s first completely free fitness club at the Markaz-e-Khail-o-Saqafat (Sports & Culture Centre), Block 10, Federal B Area.

Addressing the ceremony, Monem Zafar Khan said that the number of heart disease, diabetes, and other non-communicable diseases is rising rapidly among the youth of Karachi.

He emphasized that building hospitals alone is not enough; promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventive healthcare is equally important.

He said that Jamaat-e-Islami is working across the city to revive parks, playgrounds, and public recreational spaces to encourage young people to move away from excessive screen time and adopt healthy physical activities.
Town Chairman Nusrat Ullah said that Gulberg Town is not limited to providing municipal services but is also striving to deliver meaningful public relief through innovative welfare initiatives.
He described the free fitness club as another significant step towards building a healthier community.

UC-8 Chairman Farooq Naimat Ullah said that several model development and welfare projects are underway in the Union Committee.
He added that the fitness club, established at the Markaz-e-Khail-o-Saqafat, Block 10, is equipped with modern exercise machines.

Dedicated timings have also been allocated for women from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, enabling them to exercise in a safe and comfortable environment and actively participate in healthy recreational activities.
The ceremony was also addressed by Kamran Siraj, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Gulberg, Saeed Musa, Acting Chairman UC-8, and Nadeem Hanif, Director Parks.

The speakers termed the project a significant initiative for public welfare, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and encouraging youth to engage in positive and productive activities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by elected representatives, community leaders, youth, and a large number of local residents, who appreciated Gulberg Town’s unique public welfare initiative.
