Pakistani citizens planning to visit the United Kingdom can now complete their visa application process directly through the UK government’s online platform, with British officials encouraging applicants to avoid agents and submit applications independently.
The latest guidance was highlighted by UK High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, who urged visa applicants to use official online channels instead of relying on third-party consultants or intermediaries.
According to the British mission, the digital application system has been designed to be simple, transparent, and accessible for applicants across Pakistan.

In a video message, the UK High Commissioner encouraged Pakistani citizens to take advantage of the online process, emphasizing that applicants can manage their visa applications from home while maintaining direct control over their personal information and supporting documents.
Under the current system, applicants must first select the appropriate visa category based on the purpose of their travel.
For most visitors travelling for tourism, family visits, or short-term personal trips, the Standard Visitor Visa remains the most commonly used category.
Officials explained that visa applications can generally be submitted up to three months before the intended date of travel.

Applicants are advised to begin the process early to allow sufficient time for document preparation and visa processing.
The online application requires individuals to provide details regarding their travel plans, financial circumstances, employment information, accommodation arrangements, and personal background.
One of the key features of the digital system is that applicants can save their progress and return later to complete the application if needed.
After completing the application form, applicants are required to pay the applicable visa fee online. Once payment has been successfully processed, they must schedule an appointment at a visa application centre to provide biometric information, including fingerprints and photographs, for identity verification purposes.
