The Pakistan Meteorological Department has reported a sharp rise in temperatures in Karachi, with the mercury reaching 40°C while the feels-like temperature climbed to 46°C due to high humidity.

Officials said elevated moisture levels in the air are making conditions significantly more uncomfortable, increasing health risks for residents across the city.

The Met Office added that sea breezes are currently slow, reducing natural cooling and contributing to the continuation of hot and humid weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority has issued a heatwave alert, urging authorities and citizens to take precautionary measures to minimise risks.
