For the citizens of Karachi, the price of electricity has been increased by Rs5.27 per unit for one month.
NEPRA has approved a price increase in the context of the April fuel price adjustment, and the decision will impose an additional burden of Rs 10.15 billion on K Electric consumers.
According to NEPRA, the increase in electricity price has been approved in April in terms of adjustment of monthly fuel charges. K Electric had requested an increase of Rs 5.31 per unit.
NEPRA said that the authority had held a public hearing on FCA on June 14, 2022. The April FCA will be charged 44 paise more than March.
According to NEPRA, the increase in electricity prices will only apply to July bills, and will apply to all Electric customers except lifeline customers.
