Karachi’s various district administrations have been conducting operations against sellers pocketing illegal amounts of profits in the city.
In this regard, the spokesperson of the commissioner’s office said that a fine of Rs. 668,000 was imposed in 163 challans in Karachi and 16 illicit profiteers were arrested during the operations.
The commissioner’s office further said that action was taken against 26 vendors in the Central district.
The spokesperson said that 10 vendors were fined Rs. 10,000 in Kemari district. In South District, 43 challans and a fine of Rs. 328,000 were imposed.
According to the spokesperson commissioner’s office, 53 challans and 16 illicit profiteers were arrested in Sharqi district. A fine of Rs 40,000 was imposed on 6 grand vendors in Korangi district. 12 challans were issued in the western district and a fine of Rs. 12,000 was imposed.
