Former Pakistan pacer Ehsan Adil is set to play against Pakistan after being named in the United States squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The ICC Event Technical Committee has approved Adil as a replacement for Jasdeep Singh, who was ruled out due to a shoulder injury sustained during a warm-up match against New Zealand on February 5.

This marks Adil’s return to the global stage 11 years after he last represented Pakistan in the ICC 2015 World Cup quarter-final against Australia.
Now 32, the fast bowler made his international debut at the age of 19 against South Africa and played his final match for Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final against Australia in Adelaide.
Adil has played three Tests and six ODIs for Pakistan, taking a total of nine wickets in his international career.
After relocating to the United States, Adil rebuilt his career through domestic cricket and Major League Cricket, becoming a key figure in the American setup.

His experience includes 245 wickets in first-class cricket and consistent performances in Pakistan’s domestic T20 competitions.
His inclusion adds extra interest to the upcoming match between Pakistan and the USA, scheduled to be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Adil is among several players of Pakistani origin in the USA squad, including his teammates Ali Khan, Mohammad Mohsin, and Shayan Jahagir, adding another layer to a contest that holds significance for Pakistan, especially after their surprise defeat to the Americans in 2024.
