With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 set to begin on Saturday, February 7, weather conditions have become a major talking point, especially after rain disrupted Pakistan’s preparations earlier this week.

The tournament, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will open with several matches across multiple venues, but forecasts suggest challenging conditions during the opening weekend.

According to the latest weather reports, cricket fans can expect hot, humid, and unstable weather over the next few days.

On Friday, daytime temperatures are forecast to reach around 32°C, while the RealFeel temperature could rise as high as 39°C.

High humidity levels, close to 86 percent, are expected to make conditions uncomfortable for players and spectators alike.

Meteorologists have also warned of possible afternoon thunderstorms, which could bring brief but heavy rain and lightning.

These conditions already had an impact on teams’ preparations.

Pakistan’s warm-up match scheduled for February 4 was completely washed out due to rain, while the team’s training session on February 5 was partially disrupted by wet weather.

With Pakistan set to face the Netherlands in one of the opening matches on February 7, concerns remain over whether rain could again play a role.

Saturday’s forecast suggests similar conditions, with temperatures expected to stay around 32°C and cloudy skies dominating much of the day.

Scattered showers are likely in the afternoon, offering temporary relief from the heat but keeping humidity levels high. The RealFeel temperature is predicted to remain above 37°C, while winds may strengthen slightly.

Weather conditions are expected to improve marginally by Sunday, with lower chances of rainfall and slightly reduced humidity.

However, temperatures will remain high, and the UV index is forecast to rise again to very high levels, prompting health warnings for prolonged outdoor exposure.

Cricket officials and teams will be closely monitoring the weather, especially during the opening round of matches.
