The Pennsylvania City Council has recently elected a Muslim Pakistani female member.
Not only is Taiba Sultana Muslim and Pakistani, but she is someone familiar with the workings of Easton, Pennsylvania as unfortunate life events led her to being himeless and in need for shelter, this shelter was provided by the state’s public housing system.
Today, Sultana promises the people who have elected her that she will “work to ensure that all of Easton’s residents are safe and able to enjoy a life in which dreams can be achieved.” She promises to reflect the comassion that the state has shown her.
Sultana claims that her experience in education and administration will benefit the city of Easton in significant ways. She will be sworn in on January 2.
