Inter Board to let students with Ds and Es reappear in special examinations

The Intermediate Board of Education has announced that students who secured D and E grades in the Intermediate examinations will be allowed to appear in special examinations to improve their marks and remain eligible for university admission without losing an academic year.

The board has decided to provide students who obtained less than 45 per cent marks in the Intermediate Pre-Engineering examinations with an opportunity to improve their percentage through special examinations.

Special Exams to Help Students Improve Marks

According to the board chairman, the date for the special examinations will be announced soon.

Chairman Dr Saeed-ud-Din said the initiative would allow students to improve their percentage and meet the eligibility requirements for admission to universities in the following academic year.

The opportunity is particularly aimed at students whose D or E grades and overall percentage could prevent them from meeting admission criteria for their preferred university programmes.

Thousands of Students Receive D and E Grades

The overall success rate in the Intermediate Pre-Engineering examinations was 95.55 per cent.

According to the board, 6,605 candidates secured D grades, while 3,450 candidates obtained E grades.

Students who meet the board’s criteria will be able to use the special examination opportunity to improve their marks.

The board is expected to announce the examination schedule and other details soon.
