Karachi police have finalised comprehensive security measures for Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, on December 25, ensuring foolproof security arrangements across the city to protect citizens.

According to the police officials, Additional Inspector General Karachi Javed Alam Odho issued clear instructions to ensure strict vigilance, coordinated deployment, and uninterrupted patrolling throughout the city during celebrations.

Under the security plan, a total of 3,599 police personnel have been deployed to safeguard 702 churches across Karachi during Christmas prayers and related religious activities.

In District East, authorities deployed 1,630 police officers at 471 churches, reflecting the high concentration of Christian worship places in the area and anticipated large gatherings.

District West has been provided security through the deployment of 799 police personnel at 122 churches to ensure peaceful religious observances without disruption.

Meanwhile, District South has been assigned 1,170 police personnel for the security of 109 churches, with officers instructed to remain alert throughout Christmas services.

Police mobiles and motorcycle squads will conduct continuous patrolling across residential areas, main roads, and sensitive locations to deter any untoward incidents.

Special attention has also been given to the security of Quaid-e-Azam’s Mazar, where a heavy police contingent will be deployed on Quaid-e-Azam Day.

Snipers have been positioned on high-rise buildings surrounding Quaid’s Mazar as part of enhanced surveillance and to respond swiftly to any potential threats.

Authorities stated that strict access control measures will be enforced around the mausoleum, including checking points and controlled entry for visitors.

Traffic police have been placed on high alert to manage traffic flow around churches and Quaid’s Mazar to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement.

Special traffic arrangements will be implemented on major arteries, while alternative routes will be provided to commuters during peak hours.

Senior officers will personally monitor security operations, ensuring coordination between district police, traffic police, and emergency services.

Police officials stressed that these foolproof security arrangements aim to maintain peace, protect religious harmony, and allow citizens to observe the holidays without fear.
