Beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will no longer have to stand in long queues to receive their payments.
Starting March 2026, all eligible recipients will be able to receive funds directly at home through digital wallets, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation Imran Ahmed Shah announced.
The announcement was made during a National Assembly session, where Minister Imran Ahmed Shah responded to a question from PPP lawmaker Sharmila Faruqui.

The session was chaired by Panel Chairman Ali Zahid.
Minister Shah said the new system would eliminate corruption and save women from waiting in long lines.
“One crore accounts have already been created, and SIM cards will be distributed soon,” he added.

He further explained that in 2023, an agreement was signed between BISP and Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal for data sharing.
“So far, 40,000 cases have been checked, and 8,000 duplicate accounts have been removed. We will continue improving the system,” he said.
During the session, Sharmila Faruqui urged the government to increase the BISP budget.

In response, Minister Shah stated that government ministries do not get shares from foreign reserves, and the BISP has been allocated Rs. 716 billion for the program.
