Australia has launched a brand new service to make the process of applying for a visa simpler for Pakistani applicants.

This new service will allow applicants who meet the criteria to submit important information about their identity through their mobile application called the Australian Immi App.

Australian Ambassador for Pakistan Tim Kane announced this change from his social media, notifying that people are now able to provide passport information and facial biometrics on their mobile phones. The authorities say this change will speed up processing time.

According to the official guidelines, the app can only able to be used by those who have been issued an official “requirement to provide personal identifiers” letter, which contains an AUH or AUI Visa Lodgement number.

The Australian government has clarified that identity letters that have VLN codes that do not start in AUI or AUH are not eligible for application submission.

They must go to the Australian Biometrics collection centre to get the needed verification.

Officials have explained that this step-by-step digital solution aims to help people who qualify to be in areas where getting to biometric facilities is not easy.

This also reduces the time it takes to process applications during peak demand.

For the app to function properly, users must own an Android-compatible smartphone with an active camera, NFC capability, and an internet connection that is stable.

The Australian Home Affairs Department highlighted that all biometric information obtained through the application is secured.
