Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab on Wednesday ordered that the buildings lining main roads be painted and otherwise maintained by owners within the span of 180 days.
Owners will face action under Sindh Local Government Act 2013 if they fail to comply with the administrator’s orders.
The Karachi administrator also ordered that all industrial and commercial buildings be equipped with fire safety gear within the span of 30 days.
Wahab, while announcing the decision, pointed out that most buildings in Karachi lack fire safety equipment which can be disastrous in case of any untoward incident.
