The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has shared fresh insights on Karachi’s seasonal shift, outlining when residents can anticipate the official arrival of winter weather.

According to PMD’s latest data, Karachi will gradually intensify from mid-December, noting that current conditions remain cold and dry.
The Met Department forecasted that the city will continue experiencing warm days and cool nights over the coming days. A notable decrease in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is expected once mid-December arrives.
Meteorologists said that on Monday, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. They added that the maximum temperature is likely to rise to nearly 32 degrees later today.

Humidity levels in the city’s air currently stand at 75 percent, contributing to the early winter feel. Light and dry winds from the northeast are blowing across Karachi, maintaining stable weather conditions.
While temperatures remain manageable, air quality has deteriorated sharply. Based on the Air Quality Index, pollution levels have entered dangerously hazardous territory, raising concerns among residents and health officials.
The amount of particulate matter in the air has been recorded at 227 micrograms per cubic meter.
