The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has gathered evidences against the highly organized Whatsapp groups that it claims to involved in leaking papers during intermediate examination.

Candidates in Government Jamia Millia College in Malir were caught with phones on the first day of intermediate examination, when the invigilating staff confiscated mobile phones of over 15 students thought to be resorting to unfair means.

The board is seeking help from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime wing to investigate the case.

BIEK Chairperson Prof Saeed Uddin confirmed that his department has notified FIA’s additional director of cybercrime about the case, alleging that there could also be more such groups active on WhatsApp.

“We have requested FIA to root out such groups as they are not only depriving students of sincere efforts but also discrediting the name of the board colleges,” he told.
