Pakistani students looking to study in China now have a golden opportunity. The Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) has announced 75 fully-funded scholarships for the 2026–27 academic year, covering undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD programs.
Here’s how students can apply and what they need to know.

Applicants must submit two separate online applications: one on the HEC Portal and another on the CSC Portal. Both are mandatory for eligibility.

Required Documents (for shortlisted candidates):
Attested and translated educational certificates, CNIC, domicile, birth certificate, and equivalence certificates if applicable.
Study Plan or Research Proposal:
Undergraduate – min 200 words; Master’s/PhD – min 800 words.
Proof of language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/HSK where required).

Valid passport copy (valid until March 1, 2027).
Foreigner Physical Examination Form including blood tests (valid for 6 months).
Police Clearance Certificate issued within the last 6 months.
Pre-admission letter from a Chinese university (optional but recommended).
Two recommendation letters (for Master’s/PhD applicants).
NOC from employer if currently employed.
Guardian documents if under 18 years of age.
Check Eligibility:
Must be a Pakistani or AJK national (dual nationals not eligible).
Undergraduate applicants: under 25 years, completed 12 years of education (F.A/F.Sc or A-level).
Master’s applicants: under 35 years, completed a bachelor’s degree.
PhD applicants: under 40 years, completed a Master’s or MPhil.
Must be in good health and not hold another scholarship simultaneously.
Prepare Academic Requirements:
Submit valid USAT scores for undergraduate or HAT scores for Master’s/PhD (minimum 50/100).

USAT: valid from Jan 6, 2025, onward; HAT: valid from Jan 6, 2024, onward.
For medical, engineering, law, architecture, or veterinary programs, confirm accreditation with the relevant professional council.
Programs Offered and Duration:
Undergraduate: 4–5 years (+1–2 years preparatory Chinese course if needed).
Master’s: 2–3 years (+1–2 years preparatory).
PhD: 3–4 years (+1–2 years preparatory).
Both Chinese- and English-taught programs are available for Master’s and PhD.
Financial Coverage:
Full tuition including administration and health insurance.
Free accommodation or housing subsidy.
Monthly stipend as per CSC policy.
Travel expenses borne by the student.
