Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to host the final of ICC T20 World Cup 2026 and full tournament schedule would be available shortly from International Cricket Council (ICC).
Reports from Indian media state that senior officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently met to discuss hosting plans.
As per recent decisions, the 2026 T20 World Cup will take place across fewer cities than anticipated with each venue hosting at least six matches.

The BCCI has selected five key locations – Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai, as potential venues for cricket matches in India.
Sri Lanka will co-host this event and three of its stadiums are likely to participate; their names have yet to be finalized.

Bengaluru and Lucknow remain uncertain when it comes to being part of the host list.
However, venues used during the ICC Women’s 50-over World Cup such as Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Indore, and Navi Mumbai are not being considered for use during this tournament.
According to reports, the International Cricket Council has informed BCCI that should Sri Lanka qualify for the semi-finals, their match will take place in Colombo.

If Pakistan makes the final, they will play at a neutral venue.
As per an understanding between both cricket boards, India and Pakistan will meet each other during the group stage in Colombo since they have agreed not to play bilateral or ICC matches in each other’s nations.
The 2026 T20 World Cup is expected to commence early next year and it’s schedule has already been submitted for approval to the International Cricket Council by BCCI.
