Karachi police arrested two members of a dangerous gang involved in violent house robberies after a targeted operation in Malir.

According to SSP Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Amjad Ahmed Sheikh, the suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-based raid in the Bin Qasim area, where multiple complaints had been reported.

Police officials said the arrested men were wanted in several cases involving murder, robbery, land grabbing, and holding families hostage during brutally executed home-invasion incidents across Karachi.

Investigators revealed that the suspects were also operating with the support of a well-known builder, who allegedly helped them conduct robberies and facilitated their hideouts in the Bin Qasim locality.

During the operation, police recovered two pistols, large quantities of ammunition, and other weapons used in previous robberies, confirming the group’s active involvement in organised criminal activities.

The SIU chief stated the gang had recently robbed a house in Gulshan-e-Falaknaz on September 22, during which a sixty-seven-year-old man named Javed died due to severe torture.

Officials added the suspects fled the scene after stealing gold jewellery worth four lakh rupees and various valuables, leaving the elderly victim fatally injured inside his family home.

Record checks showed both accused had extensive criminal histories involving armed robberies, dacoities, assault cases, and multiple incidents where they opened fire on police personnel during attempted escapes.

The arrested men were identified as Dost Suhito and Shoaib Ahmed, both considered dangerous offenders responsible for terrorising several neighbourhoods and repeatedly targeting vulnerable families.
