Ministry of Planning and Development Asad Umar is concerned over the growing number of coronavirus cases in Karachi as the beds in hospitals are being rapidly occupied.
Taking to the Twitter on Thursday, Umar expressed his concerns over the surge in number of Covid-19 cases in Karachi, he asked public to follow the SOPs and get them vaccinated as soon as possible.
Rapid build up starting to take place in covid patients hospital inflow, as well as patients in critical care. This indian variant has caused devastation in countries in the region. Please follow sop’s and get vaccinated as soon as possible. Do not risk your own & others lives.

Pakistan’s total tally of Covid-19 cases reached to 981,392 as the 2,545 new cases recorded in the country in last 24 hours.
Earlier in his meeting, Sindh government has also observed the situation of corona cases and announced the closure of primary to secondary schools, beaches, amusement parks, indoor dinning and theatres for next two weeks.
The situation in the hospitals of Karachi is alarming as the cases are going up with high positivity rate, said Dr.Memon. The health officials also stressed upon the number of people getting vaccinated, said that 3.35 million people in Karachi are vaccinated, yet the number has not reached to what it has been expected.
