The Sydney Sixers have unveiled a dedicated fan zone called “Babaristan” to celebrate former Pakistan captain Babar Azam ahead of his maiden appearance in the Big Bash League.
The franchise shared the announcement across its official social media platforms with the message: “Introducing Babaristan – A Fan Zone Like No Other.”
Welcoming the star batter, the Sixers added, “We’re celebrating cricket culture like never before with Babaristan, a brand-new Sixers fan zone celebrating the arrival of one of the world’s greatest cricketers, Babar Azam 🇵🇰.”
Fans will get their first chance to experience the new fan zone when the Sixers face the Adelaide Strikers in their opening fixture on December 17.

The upcoming 15th season of the BBL, featuring 43 early-evening matches, will run from December 14, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
The tournament will kick off with a high-profile opener between the Perth Scorchers and the Sydney Sixers at Perth Stadium, where Babar’s presence is expected to draw major attention as he begins his first BBL campaign.
Pakistan will have a strong representation across the league this season.
Shaheen Afridi has been drafted by the Brisbane Heat as the first overseas and platinum pick, while Mohammad Rizwan will represent the Melbourne Renegades.
Haris Rauf has been retained by the Melbourne Stars, Hassan Khan will return to the Renegades, Shadab Khan has signed with the Sydney Thunder, and Hasan Ali will appear for the Adelaide Strikers.
