Right-arm spinner Usman Tariq has received his first Pakistan call-up for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa, followed by the Tri-Nation Series featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

The 27-year-old has been rewarded for his consistent performances in T20 leagues around the world.

Usman, who made his PSL debut in 2024, has represented the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and the Quetta Gladiators in the PSL, steadily building his reputation as a reliable spin option in the shortest format.

So far, he has played 36 T20 matches, claiming 54 wickets at an excellent average of 18.07 and an impressive economy rate of 6.88, with best bowling figures of 4/17.

Usman was previously reported for a suspect bowling action during a PSL 10 match between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 13, but he was later cleared to continue bowling after undergoing the review process.

This was the second time Tariq had been reported in a PSL season.

He had also come under scrutiny in PSL 9 during a match against Karachi Kings, after umpires Richard Illingworth and Asif Yaqoob questioned the legality of his action.
