Karachi is experiencing very warm conditions with plenty of sunshine today as temperatures climb to 38°C, marking the beginning of an intense heat period that will see extreme temperatures.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), maximum temperatures will reach 38°C, while minimums will drop to 22°C overnight. The RealFeel temperature is identical at 38°C, with the RealFeel shade offering minor relief at 36°C.

Westerly winds blowing at 9 km/h and a high UV Index of 6.0 are contributing to the oppressive daytime heat. Meteorologists warn that the heatwave pattern is likely to persist for several days.

The department has advised residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure, especially during peak afternoon hours, as intense sunlight and low humidity increase the risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Health authorities have issued similar warnings, urging people to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and use sun protection such as hats, umbrellas, and sunscreen to counter the high UV radiation levels.
