Saudi Arabia has introduced new regulations requiring international travelers to declare and register psychotropic or narcotic medicines before entering the Kingdom.
The updated Saudi psychotropic medicine rules will begin on November 1.
According to the issued circular, passengers must complete prior registration through the Ministry of Health’s online portal at cds.fada.gov.sa.
The rule applies to all international travelers entering Saudi territory.
The Saudi Aviation Authority explained that the initiative is meant to strengthen monitoring systems and ensure compliance with national drug control laws. Failure to observe these requirements will result in strict penalties.
Air carriers worldwide have been instructed to inform passengers about the changes before boarding. Airlines are required to help ensure passengers understand the declaration process before arriving.
