Mobile phone services will remain suspended at 23 key locations in Karachi on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, as part of security measures during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions.

According to the details, Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho penned down a letter to the Sindh Home Department, suggesting a temporary suspension of services in selected areas for the security of the procession.

The officials clarified that the mobile signals will not be shut down across the metropolis, but will remain suspended only from Tower to Nishtar Park and other sensitive routes.

The Additional IG explained that the decision aims to ensure foolproof security and minimize threats, while also attempting to reduce inconvenience to the public during religious gatherings.

Authorities confirmed that services would be cut off completely at 23 points spread across East, West, and South zones of the metropolis from Tower to Nishtar Park and other sensitive routes.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), also known as 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, is celebrated nationwide with devotion, featuring decorated mosques, illuminated streets, processions, Naat gatherings, and charity distribution to mark the occasion.

Authorities urged citizens to cooperate with the security measures, use alternative communication methods, and avoid traveling on restricted routes to prevent delays during the processions.

The Sindh government has announced two public holidays on September 5 and 6 in connection with Eid Milad un Nabi, observed on the 12th of Rabi ul Awal.
