Heavy rain with thunderstorms in Karachi is expected within the next three hours, according to a weather alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The department warned that intense downpours may cause flooding in low-lying areas. Civic and emergency institutions have been instructed to stay on high alert to prevent urban flooding incidents.
Officials said the upcoming spell will be accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, creating potential hazards for residents and motorists across the city during the downpour.

Earlier in the day, light to moderate thundershowers were reported in areas including the Airport, Malir, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed, while rain continues to lash North Karachi, Surjani Town, and nearby areas.
Other neighborhoods such as Saddar, Old City Area, Civil Hospital, Nazimabad, SITE Area, and Manghopir Road have also recorded rainfall.
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab wrote on X that heavy rain has started again in the city, urging citizens to stay indoors until the weather stabilizes.
Meanwhile, KE spokesperson Imran Rana confirmed that all affected feeders have been restored. He added that KE teams are working to resolve individual complaints and restore power, with support from the city administration for drainage efforts.
