A tragic incident occurred on August 1 when a cricket dispute shooting claimed the life of a 20-year-old boy, Abdul Razzaq in Karachi.

According to the police officials, the dispute began during a cricket match over a minor issue with two brothers, Usman and Adnan.

The quarrel escalated, and the brothers opened fire on Abdul Razzaq. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital. Despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his wounds after fighting for his life.

Police have registered a case and decided to include murder charges. However, the suspects fled the scene, and raids are being conducted to arrest them.

On the other hand, Independence Day celebrations in Karachi turned tragic as aerial firing killed three people, including an eight-year-old girl and a senior citizen. At least 64 others were injured across the city, according to rescue officials.

The incidents occurred in several neighborhoods, including Azizabad, Korangi, Lyari, and Baldia, spreading panic and filling hospitals with victims.

Authorities strongly condemned the reckless firing. Police arrested more than 20 suspects and seized firearms along with ammunition. Emergency services remain on high alert, urging citizens to adopt safer ways of celebrating the national occasion.
