In a major initiative to empower youth through professional education, Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced free diploma and certificate programs under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) at the City Institute of Health Sciences (CIHS).
The programs offered with 100 percent scholarships include a wide range of diploma and certificate courses for session 2025–2026, aimed at building careers in the healthcare sector.
Programs Offered:
- Certified Nursing Assistant – 2 Years
- Lady Health Visitors (LHV) – 2 Years
- Nurse Aid – 1 Year
- Community Midwife (CMW) – 18 Months
- Post Basic Specialty Diplomas (A&E, CCU) – 1 Year
Admissions are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the last date to apply is August 31, 2025.
Eligibility Overview:
- Minimum 40% to 50% marks in Matric or FSC (depending on the course)
- Age limits range between 14 to 40 years, depending on the program
- For specialty programs, applicants must be Registered Nurses with a valid PNC license
The initiative falls under KMC’s broader vision to equip Karachi’s youth with practical healthcare skills, reduce unemployment, and enhance access to medical services across the city.
All programs will be conducted at CIHS, Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases, located in Federal B Area.
